Jose Mourinho wants Barcelona star to join him at Man Utd
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is planning a move for Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic, according to Spanish new outlet Don Balon.
The 28-year-old is viewed as an ideal midfield partner for Paul Pogba, who has struggled to live up to expectations since his arrival from Juventus over the summer.

Mourinho believes that Rakitic can be the player to unlock the Frenchman’s potential, his ability to control the game from deep complementing the 23-year-old’s more attacking tendencies.
The Portuguese boss is also on the lookout for a replacement for the ageing Michael Carrick and the Croatian playmaker is said to fit the bill.
The report states that Mourinho sees Rakitic as undervalued at Barca under Luis Enrique’s regime and that he will use this to tempt the midfielder to Old Trafford.
The former Sevilla man joined the Catalan giants in 2014 and went on to lift the Champions League trophy in his first campaign, scoring the opening goal in a 3-1 win over Pogba’s Juventus in the final.
Rakitic has a contract running until 2019 with the Spanish champions, meaning United would have to pay a premium to get him out of the Camp Nou in the near future.
