A video making rounds on social media show two teachers forcibly ripping the school shorts of a male student apart for withstanding their orders.
The student, dressed in their usual uniform(green shirt and a khaki short), is captured holding on to his short to prevent the teachers from stripping him in the presence of other schoolmates including girls.
The student who was asked by one of the teachers in a Fante dialect to stop being stubborn and allow them(teachers) to pull the shorts down kept holding on to his short which a knife was requested by one of the teachers which he used to rip the shorts into pieces leaving the boy in his underpants.

Victim’s father’s side of the story
As to why the unfortunate incident happened, the father of the victim Mr John Mensah in his narration said he was earlier informed by the child’s mother informed about two weeks ago.
He said his son (name withheld) who is a form two General Arts student and an Assistant Entertainment Prefect of Mankessim Senior High Technical School were having its sporting activities and at the same time preparing for a gospel rock show.
The teachers saw his son in the school, called and questioned him why he was wearing altered school shorts, adding that the teachers then asked his son to go home to change his shorts.

His son, however, promised the teachers that he would go home to change it after the entertainment show, which the teachers agreed.
After the sporting activities, the teachers saw his son again in the altered khaki shorts and proceeded to question him where his son told the teachers that he stays at Baafikrom, a suburb of Mankessim which is about 20-minute drive from the school so he could not go home immediately to change it and promised not to wear the same shorts to school the following day.
That, he said, angered the teachers and that led to them stripping his son using the knife requested by the teacher earlier, resulting in some cuts on his son.

In Mr Mensah’s narration, he called the Assistant Headmaster of the school after he was briefed about the incident, who assured him that he would inform the headmaster about the issue.
Upon calling the assistant headmaster after three days after he(asst. headmaster) had failed to get back to him as he promised, the assistant headmaster told him that he had informed the headmaster who in turn had assured him that the issue would be investigated.
Mr Mensah, however, said he had not reported the incident to the police.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Robert Eghan, confirmed the incident which happened on Wednesday, 23rd May 2018 and said the issue was before the school’s disciplinary committee.
According to him, the student had been cautioned earlier not to wear the prescribed uniform he had altered to the school but had refused to comply.
