A 12-year-old boy has reportedly been beaten to death by his colleagues after he declined their request to join a cult.
The young boy identified as Sylvester Oromoni Junior of Dowen College, Lekki Phase One, Nigeria suffered fatal injuries after the attack.
In a post sighted on social media, a relative of the deceased explained that the school’s management informed the family that Sylvester sustained injuries while playing football.
He was later taken to the hospital where it was confirmed that the deceased was severely beaten, causing internal damages after series of test was conducted.
According to the relative, before his death, Sylvester disclosed to his parents how he was pressured to join a cult by some of his mates.
Sylvester revealed that the cult members also threatened to kill him if he reported them.
He also mentioned some names of the cult members to his parents before he passed away yesterday.

However, a representative of Dowen College, Ayomide Falona denied the allegations, explaining that there has never been a case of cultism in the school.
“It is not true, and there has never been a case of cultism in the school. Investigations are still ongoing, and that’s all I can say for now”, Madam Falona indicated.
The police in Lagos have also commenced investigations into the matter.
