19-year-old boy writing the ongoing WASSCE dies at Obuasi

A General Art student writing the ongoing Senior High School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) has died at Obuasi Asonkori in the Ashanti region.

19-year-old Clinton Kumi who was a student at Obuasi Christ the King SHS died on Monday shortly after he was rushed to the hospital due to a strange condition.

The father of the deceased, Isaac Kumi, said his son looked very healthy until he started complaining of a headache on Friday evening.

After delivering some first aid measures, Clinton responded to treatment and even went to the farm but later realised there’s blood in his cough hence, rushed him to the hospital.

“My son’s condition became worse when he started coughing blood so we rushed him to Byrnt Mission Hospital for medical attention where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes after arrival,” he said.

“I’m still in shock because my son was not sick so I’m still at a loss as to how a common cough could claim his life,” he added.

Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Byrnt Mission Hospital morgue pending an autopsy.
