2 SHS hopefuls collapse at Black Star square over school placement

Information reaching Ghpage.com indicates that two Junior High School graduates collapsed at the Black Stars Square this morning after standing in a queue for long hours over SHS placement.

The students who are yet to be identified were part of the thousands of students who failed to get admitted into any of the numerous Senior High Schools.

These students collapsed after they stood in the sun for long hours as people around also poured water on them to revive them.

Parents and guidance who thronged the Black Stars Square lamented on how they have been standing in the scorching sun for hours without being attended to.

“Some of us came yesterday and had to sleep in this open space. We have been here since last week but to no avail and one girl just collapsed. You will form a queue to be attended to only to be told stories”, a parent disclosed.

This comes after the Ghana Education Service embarked on an exercise to solve the challenges some JHS graduates are facing over their SHS placement.

A large number of students has not been placed by the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) as school resumes this week and has made parents frustrated.
