National Science & Maths Quiz is held to promote the study of the sciences and mathematics, help students develop quick thinking and a probing and scientific mind about the things around them while fostering healthy academic rivalry among senior high schools. Without a doubt, these aims have been achieved.

The quiz popularly referred to as “Brilla” by many who have gone through the secondary school system is by far one of the few academic events that bring all of Ghana’s secondary schools together. The schools and students look forward to it.
By virtue of the qualification of Senior High Schools (SHS) to the semi-finals level in the 2017 National Science and Maths Quiz, 27 Senior High schools in seven regions across the country have qualified automatically to be part of the seeded schools in the 2018 edition.

The journey to claiming the bragging rights of champions of Science and Mathematics by various SHS in 2018 began in January. Preliminary draws were held for regional contests to select schools to compete at the national level.
135 schools which included the 27 seeded schools were expected to qualify for the national championship to be held in Accra with the Ashanti Region having the majority of schools (26 schools) who participate every year.

After fiercely contested stages across the country, the following schools have qualified from the Regional Competition for the National Championship.
