The police service has arrested five armed robbers including a woman who robbed residents of an orphanage home in new Ningo in the Greater Accra region.
The suspected armed robbers somewhere in December last year with their arms invaded the orphanage Home and succeeded in robbing the people an undisclosed amount of foreign and local currencies.
They also took away some items including 6 different types of mobile phones including iPhone and painfully subjected some of the residents into severe beatings and left them to their fate.
Afer their operation, an immediate report was made to the Prampram Police command for an investigation and arrest.
An information was later revealed when an attempt was made to break into one of the iPhone which led to a number being sent to the owner’s Gmail account.
The Police used the opportunity to tracked and traced them with the number to Kwame Nkrumah Circle where they succeeded in arresting 2 of the suspects.
Further investigations later disclosed that it was someone from Bolgatanga in the Upper East region who brought the phones to be decoded and that too led to the arrest of some of the suspects.
The accomplices of the robbery were later named by the already arrested suspects leading to their arrest at about 11 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Arms that were found on them includes 3 foreign pistols, one short gun, and other sorts of ammunition.
The suspects are currently in police custody waiting to be arraigned before court for trial.
