Ghanaians woke up early on Friday morning to hear the sudden and shocking death of dancehall artist, Ebony Reigns born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, which occurred on the night of Thursday, February 8, 2018.

Ebony died in a gory accident somewhere along the Sunyani-Kumasi road upon her return from her mother as she was traveling to Accra to prepare for her event trip in Abroad.
The Jeep which crashed with the VIP bus and caused Ebony’s fate also succeeded in killing two of her colleagues who was on the bus leaving one person who happens to be her personal driver.

Well, after the announcement of the shocking death, celebrities, high profile personalities including President Akufo-Addo and Ex-President Mahama have sent their grief and condolence messages to the bereaved family.
On the account of the bereaved family, Ebony’s mother, Beatrice Oppong, who was reported to have just descended from an airplane and only saw her long seen daughter after she visited her in Sunyani, on a radio interview, was heard weeping over her daughter’s death.
However, her father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng who apparently, would be the most affected person on his daughter’s death has many times executed courageous attitude on many public interviews.
Nana Poku was strong enough to control his emotions as he summed up his reaction towards the shocking incident that “Ghana was blessed to have my queen”.

Considering the force between Ebony and her father and how close they were, it is quite clear that Ebony was everything her dad have in this life.

Mr. Opoku Kwarteng is on a report to have stated he authorized her daughter’s decision to quit school, midway through SHS, to seek a career in music as she notices as her talent.
