A 51-year-old trader has capitalized on the Free SHS policy introduced by the ruling New Patriotic Party to further her education.

The trader identified as Comfort Nutsugah is currently a first-year student at the keta Senior High School in the Volta Region.

Comfort Nutsugah is a mother of six studying General Arts and after school goes back to sell her wares.

According to Mrs. Comfort Nutsugah, she sat for the BECE with her fifth child but wasn’t able to further her education due to financial issues.

“I remember I sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with my fifth born and had it not been for the Free SHS, I wouldn’t have continued my education to this level”, Mrs. Nutsugah stated.

She further stated that her husband and children have supported her in this decision to further her education.

Madam Comfort added that she is not perturbed that most of her mates are young enough to her children but that she is only concentrated on acquiring knowledge.

The trader who is part of the Gold Track also applauded the President of Ghana for this laudable initiative and advised that the government should ensure this policy is not terminated.
