Police have arrested six students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for allegedly gang-raping a first-year female student.
One of the suspects, Patrick Ofosu – a 19-year-old Business Administration student – is said to be the boyfriend of the victim (name withheld), who orchestrated the crime.
Police investigations reveal that the boyfriend had sent a text message to the girlfriend asking her to have sex with him and his male friends, which she declined.
He then invited her over to his hostel after convincing her that he had called off the sex party and only wanted to have sex with her as a couple.
He then managed to convince the victim to come to his hostel so the two of them could have sex alone as lovers, unknown to her it was a trap.
While getting intimate, the five other suspects who had laid in ambush budged into the room and took turns to sexually assualt the female student.
