Thomas Agyei, 45, committed suicide in Adeiso, Upper West Akyem District, Eastern Region, due to alleged marital problems.

On December 1, 2021, he was discovered hanging in his room around 4:00 a.m.

Benjamin Okyere, a resident of Salem, an Adeiso suburb where the incident occurred, stated that he had information that Thomas Agyei alias Paa Joe had committed suicide by hanging and thus promptly reported the incident to the police.

According to DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, police arrived at the scene and discovered the deceased lying clenched in a supine position.

According to him, police discovered a yellow electric cable wire wrapped around a wood under the roof and a piece of it beside the body.

After taking inventories, the body was removed and deposited in the mortuary of Nsawam Government Hospital for autopsy.

According to Starr News, the now-deceased person recently bitterly complained to his father about his wife walking out of the marriage and parking all of her belongings in the house.

The Eastern region continues to have a high number of suicides.
