Legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician and “Abiba” hitmaker, Rex Omar yesterday sent a word of advice to Shatta Wale that it’s about time he changes his style of music to suit the dancehall genre he claims to do.

In Rex Omar’s assertion, Shatta Wale should name his kind of music Rudebwoy Highlife so he can showcase it to the rest of world and not Dancehall as he always brands it.

“I would be happy if Shatta Wale sells our brand of music to the world, not Dancehall which originated from Jamaica,” he said.

“With his rudeness and all that, if he has called his highlife maybe rudebwoy highlife or something like that then it would have taken our music somewhere else,” he said on ‘The KSM Show’.

Music enthusiasts and entertainment pundits have always criticised Shatta Wale’s genre of music claiming his songs are not dancehall.

Meanwhile self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale has said he does not produce Afro Dancehall songs but rather real Dancehall songs.

In a Tweet to clarify issues, Shatta Wale indicated that he does not produce Afro Dancehall songs like it’s been suggested by people. According to him, he produces dancehall songs and people need to come to terms with that.

“I don’t do Afro Dancehall I do dancehall… #zylofonmusic“.
