The unveiling ceremony will be attended by Major Mahama’s family, Defence Minister, the Military High Command and other state officials.

This was revealed through a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces, Commander A. La-Nyane

Maxwell Adams Mahama was gruesomely murdered in the line of duty at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region in 2017 after he was mistaken to be an armed robber.

He was part of over 100 officers deployed to Denkyira Obuasi to fight against illegal mining and was callously murdered by residents in the community.

He was with the 5th Infantry Battalion but after his death, he was promoted to the full rank of Major by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

However, the Assembly Member of Denkyira Obuasi, William Baah and other 14 members of the community are currently standing trial at an Accra High Court over the gruesome murder of Major Maxwell Adams Mahama.
