Aisha Huang accomplice collapses in court

Chinese galamsey kingpin, Aisha Huang and her three other accomplices appeared before the Accra Circuit court today, September 14th 2022.

The galamsey queen was arrested by the National Security for engaging in mining without a licence.

Aisha Huang pleaded not guilty to the charge of engaging in the sale of minerals without license and mining without a license.

The three other suspects, Jong Li Hua, Huang Jei and Huiad Hiahu pleaded not guilty to the sale of mining equipment without a license.

However, during the court proceedings, one of the accused persons, Jong Li Hua collapsed in court after their bail request was denied.

The suspect was later rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

In December 2018, the 47-year-old Chinese national was repatriated by the government for engaging in illegal small-scale mining.

According to reports, Aisha returned to China and changed her identity, only to come back to Ghana to commit the same crime for which she had escaped prosecution earlier.

It is believed that Aisha Huang applied for a Togolese visa and entered Ghana through the border and continued the galamsey operations.

The court, presided over by Bright Acquah remanded the accused persons into police custody.

The suspects will also re-appear before the court on September 27th 2022.
