Details surrounding the re-arrest of Aisha Huang has unraveled some inaccuracies in the government’s account of how the notorious illegal miner left the country in 2018.
Earlier, the government had said that the Chinese national had been deported from Ghana following her arrest in 2017 over her unlawful mining activities.
This was backed by evidence of a repatriation notice, with the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, confirming she was repatriated.
However, the prosecutors in court on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, said Aisha Huang who was arrested earlier in September, sneaked out of Ghana after her arrest in 2017.
According to facts presented by the prosecutors in court, she again sneaked back into Ghana early in 2022.
