Akwaboah explains why he won’t work with Sarkodie again

In 2016 Ghanaian highlife musician Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah known professionally as Akwaboah, was signed to Sarkodie’s Sarkcess music. However, in 2019 the duo parted ways.

According to sources, there were undisclosed disparities between the duo which led both parties to mutually sever ties. After parting ways with Sarkodie and the Sarkcess music label, Akwaboah proceeded to join another record label, OB Empire

In a recent interaction with GBC Radio Central’s Amansan Krakye, the highly talented singer and songwriter, noted that he does not regret his decision to part ways with Sarkodie and his Sarkcess label.

He said that parting ways with Sarkodie has given him an opportunity to try out many things. He further disclosed that he doesn’t see himself returning back to the label and that he has resolved to forge ahead in life.

He said;

“For now I would like to do so many things on my own rather than going back to be under the Sarkcess Music record label….So it’s forward ever”

Akwaboah however mantains that he has a cordial relationship with his former boss.

Although Akwaboah is immensely talented, many Ghanaians are doubtful that his new record label has garnered enough expertise and international recognition to successfully propel his music career as much as his previous label, Sarkcess Music did.

We however, must admit that the young chap is talented, resilient and willing to forge ahead regardless of any circumstance. We are expecting so much from him. Let’s see how far he goes with his new label
