According to a report cited by Ghpage.com, one Anas Salifu has fallen victim to fraudsters and has lost an amount of GH¢700 to them.
From the report cited on MyNewsGh.com, Anas Salifu of Kassana in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region explained that the scammers called him and informed him he has won a bet from the World Cup, an amount of GH¢65,000.

But to retrieve his award, he has to pay an amount of GH¢700 to a particular mobile money number something he obliged.
He again received another call that he needs to deposit another GH¢700 and that was when he informed a friend who told him he has been dupped.

He made an attempt to retrieve his money but he couldn’t get through to the scammers. Anas Salifu made these revelations in an interview with Tumu-based Radford FM. He said:
“Whiles I was in the garden doing some work, a call came in telling him he had won GH¢ 65,000 for taking part in text competition during the last World Cup and should, therefore, transfer GH¢ 150 into a mobile money account which I did twice all alone”.
Mobile Money scamming has been rampant in recent times. The Mobile network providers have a result of that adopted several methods to prevent them but the users also have to pay attention to such tactics by the fraudsters in order not to fall a victim to such crimes
