Angry Salaga residents set NPP office ablaze over regional capital

Reports reaching Ghanapage.com indicates that angry residents at the Salaga South constituency have set the office of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) office on fire.

The youth in the community are angry over the citing of Damango as the regional capital of the newly created Savanna region.

NPP Office on fire at Salaga

The angry Salaga residents are infuriated by the decision of the President of the Republic of Ghana for making Damongo the capital.

According to them, Salaga deserved to be the regional capital because they voted for the NPP Parliamentary Candidate Salifu Adam Braimah as MP.

The angry youth set the office on fire and destroyed several equipments and office materials belonging to the party.

According to eyewitnesses, the attempt by fire service to quench the fire has proved futile as the youth have prevented them from doing their work.

The police were present to calm the situation but could do nothing about it as the youth were bent on destroying the building to send their message across.
