Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has reacted to news of popular Nigerian socialite Bobrisky’s intended visit to Ghana this weekend.
Born Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, Bobrisky officially announced his visit when he posted a flyer featuring colours of the Ghana flag on his Instagram page with the caption, “See you all soon”.
Although Bobrisky was born a man, he identifies as a woman albeit has masculine features. He dresses in female clothes and accessories to complement his chosen gender.
On several occasions, Bobrisky has implied being an LGBT personality, claiming to have multiple boyfriends who have sex with him and sponsor his extravagant lifestyle.
The announcement has triggered mixed reactions from internet users who have questioned the “Africa Barbie and Influencer’s” mission to Ghana – a country with a strong anti-LGBTQ stance.
A Facebook user named Barnabas alerted Sam George, an anti-gay campaigner, asking: “Dear Sam, I have heard that Bobrisky wants to visit Ghana and he is an influencer. If we can remove signboards, that means we can also stop planes from landing.”
In reaction, the legislator gave a surprising response that most Ghanaians were not expecting given his crusade against the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.
He said: “Barnabas, we are a hospitable people, however, you must respect our laws, culture, and norms whilst here. When he gets here, he should endeavor to comply. O for Oshe bhaddest”.
Bobrisky is yet to divulge details of his visit to Ghana
