Popular broadcast journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah had an interaction with some effeminate young men at Labadi, a suburb of Accra on why they apply makeup and has sent the internet ablaze.
According to the effeminate young men who belong to a group called “The Woody Dolls Empire”, they apply makeup just to look attractive.

One guy identified as Micheal Akwetey who is the leader of the Woody Dolls Empire stated that he is into fashion and that he dresses that way to enhance his fashion sense.
“It is part of fashion, I wear lashes and makeup to look more cute and handsome. Because of my personality, I am different from other people so when I am wearing lashes I feel very good about myself”, he added.
According to him, they dress in that manner especially when there is an occasion just to be the centre of attraction.

Micheal also disclosed that when they apply makeup they receive gifts from people because they look attractive.
“Mostly when you look so attractive people give us money because you are looking so sexy. We spend a lot on makeups so this money helps us“, he added.
They refuted claims that they are homosexuals and do not feel insulted when they are tagged in such a manner.
Some also disclosed that they have been approached by homosexuals but turned them down.
