Just a week after two police officers were shot dead by robbers while returning from night duties in the Ashanti region and a military officer attached to the Flagstaff House was also killed by the roadside at Tema two weeks ago, armed robbers have attacked the Kwabenya police station, freed robbers arrested and killed the police commander at the station.
Armed robbers on Saturday dawn around 1: am attacked the Kwabenya police station in the Greater Accra Region.
They freed their colleague armed robbers who have been arrested earlier and also killed the Police Inspector who was in charge of the station.
The police administration is yet to reveal the identity of the slain police officer. The police have since mounted a search for both the armed robbers who were initially arrested and the others who attacked the police station.
Many people have bemoaned the surge attacks on security personnel by suspected criminals in the country and have called on the authorities to rise to the challenge.
