Football and Politics do not mix, stay away from football activities – Asamoah Gyan warns

Asamoah Gyan, the captain of the Ghana Blackstars has finally waded into the Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé which has rocked Ghana football this past month.

Anas premiered his latest exposé which was centered on Ghana Football on 6th June 2018. In the video, several high profiled football personalities were captured in various scenes taking various sums of money from the undercover investigators to influence decisions.

Over 16 referees took bribes to fix matches whiles others took money to give players call-up into the National Team.

The president of Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi was captured receiving money from potential sponsors of the Ghana premier league. He also used the name of the president of Ghana to peddle influence, an act the president has filed a complaint with the police CID.

The president has since initiated steps to collapsed the Ghana Football Association. In the meantime, the Attorney General has secured an injunction from the court to cease all football activities in the country.

The captain of the national team has finally reacted to the exposé which has been nicknamed Number 12. According to the record-breaking player, politicians should stay away from Ghana Football as they are attempting to do.

He explained that Football and Politics do not mix and as such should be avoided at all cost. In a short interview, Asamoah Gyan said:

“I have said it and I will say it again; football and politics cannot work. This is all I can say for now but for sure football and politics is a no.”

By the way, representatives from FIFA has been to see the president and plans are already underway for new leaders to be elected to manage Ghana football.
