The late Gyasehene of Dawuriso was the treasurer of the cocoa farmers in the Asante Akyem North District.
According to reports, the disturbed chief shot himself dead after using a huge sum of money to the tune of Ghc120,000 belonging to some cocoa farmers in the area to bet on the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
It is said that someone persisted on the late chief to bet the money on the ongoing AFCON games to double it and he caved.
He committed suicide on Thursday morning, January 13, 2022, in his bedroom.
We gather that the chief, 76 who also is a retired educationist before taking his life asked his son to prepare him some porridge for breakfast, he then killed himself after he left his presence.
