Assemblyman ordered to weed around basic schools by Kumasi Mayor

Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi the Chief Executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has ordered the assemblyman for Fankyenebra Electoral area, Hon. James Nana Prempeh to make sure that all weedy school campuses in the area are cleared with immediate effect.

“With much respect, I want you to ensure that weedy campuses as we see here [Danyame M/A Basic] is cleared and tidy without delay“, the Mayor told the conveyor of the Assembly’s Environment and Sanitation Sub-Committee Chairman during the recent “My First Day at School”.

He added that the clearing should be done so the teachers and students don’t get attacked by snakes who might be hiding in the bush.

“Please let us do this to save the teachers and our children from any snake bite. I want to see it done between now and latest by Friday 21st September 2018”

The five schools visited by the Mayor and a team from the Sub – Metro Education Director headed by Martha Owusu Agyeman are; Danyame M/A Basic, Santase M/A Basic and Adumanu M/A Basic Schools, New Tafo Dichemso M/A, and Najahi Islamic Basic School all the Kumasi metropolis.

The delegation presented Exercise books, pencils, and drinks to elated pupils between the ages of four and six where they thanked the Mayor and the government for the gesture.
