“Bailout” was the most trending word on social media in Ghana beside the unfortunate demise of Ebony Reigns, born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng the sensational Ghanaian Dancehall Queen.
The word was used in a tribute tweeted by Nana Appiah Mensah, the Zylofon Media, and Menzgold CEO who stated that Ebony, before she passed away pleaded with him, to bail her out by paying off Rufftown Records her recording label owned by Bullet.
Many accused him of being insensitivity to Bullet and the family of Ebony. He was equally accused of using the death of the young singer for a publicity stunt.
Well, in an interview with Sammy Flex on Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah has explained the meaning of his tweet. According to him, Ebony approached him to help her satisfy a clause in her contract with Rufftown records that will allow her to join a different record label, preferably Zylofon Media.
According to NAM, as Nana Appiah Mensah is called, the Bailout amount was $100,000 and probably more. He also added that his Media company was about to approach Bullet for all the official deals be done and then the artist passed away.
“If Ebony had not died, Bullet would have been paid $100,000 or probably more this week. What is insensitivity about that?” Nana Appiah Mensah quizzed.
