News broke a few moments ago that the convoy of the vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been involved in an accident Asemasa near Beposo, today, Saturday 16th February 2019 around 6:30 pm. The vice president was returning from an activity within the Central region when the accident occurred on Cape Coast highway.
From what Ghpage.com has gathered, an Urvan driver who was involved in the accident is dead and a security detail of Dr. Bawumia also suffered serious injuries and is on admission

A statement from the signed by the Spokesperson of the Vice President Dr. Gideon Boako confirming the unfortunate development reads:
“Vice President safe after Road Accident. Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia escaped unhurt in a motor accident On Saturday, 16th February 2019. The incident occurred around 6:30 pm on the Takoradi – Cape Coast highway as he returned from some activities in the western region.
