BBC approached Anas for the sex for grades exposé but he refused-Baako

Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr the mentor and the PRO for popular investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has finally spoken on the allegation that the Tiger Eye led by Anas Aremeyaw Anas spearheaded the BBC Africa Eye’s Sex for grades documentary.

According to the editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, BBC approached Anas to undertake the investigation.

But Anas refused the request because he had too many projects ongoing at the time BBC approached him to lead the investigation. Speaking on JoyNews’ current affairs program, Newsfile with Samson Lardy Anyenini, Kweku Baako said:

“There is no Anas in there because it wasn’t as if an opportunity did not exist for an Anas to be in there, but Anas declined to be part of this particular project. [This is] because he is doing so many other things and I did not want an Anas to be in there”.

He, however, admitted that there is a very close relationship between Anas’ Tiger Eye and BBC Africa Eye.

“BBC is capable…in fact when it comes to infrastructural, logistical and all those things they have more than Tiger Eye especially BBC Africa Eye…there is a close relationship between Tiger Eye and BBC Africa Eye though”.

In place of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Nigerian journalist, Kiki Mordy who is a victim herself when it comes to sex for grades led the investigation in some selected universities in Wester Afric.

Prof Yaw Gyampo and Dr. Paul Kwame Butakor were the Ghanaian lecturers who were caught in the scandal. The two have bee interdicted by the University of Ghana.
