BECE candidate dies after sitting for four papers

A piece of information gathered has it that a final year Junior High School student writing the Basic Education Certificate Examination-BECE identified as Richard Mensah has died.

Richard Mensah was a student at Apowa Methodist Junior High School.

According to reports, the BECE Candidate, passed on to glory on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Apremdo in the Western Region.

It is said that the deceased JHS student who was among the many who are writing their final Junior High School level exams wrote only four papers.

He only took part in Monday and Tuesday’s papers, i.e English Language, Religious and Moral Education-RME, Integrated Science and Basic Design and Technology-BDT.

The grand-mother of the 19-year-old Richard Mensah confirmed the news to Connect FM.

She revealed that her grandson complained of a headache on Monday, the day the BECE started but he managed to finish that day’s paper.

His condition got worse after writing Tuesday’s papers. He was quickly rushed to the Jemima Hospital at Kwesimintsim the next day but unfortunately he lost his life.
