BECE graduate builds his own car from scrap metals

A BECE graduate’s ingenuity has attracted attention all across the media landscape after building a car from scrap metal.

The 18-year-old boy drove to the center for the exams throughout the week in his scrap car modeled after the sleek luxury car, Lamborghini with the scissor doors.

Reporting from the venue was UTV’s Alhaji Moro Yaro who with Kelvin’s mates and teaching staff present were in awe of the young man’s handiwork.

The boy who goes by the name Kelvin Odartey Afrifa speaking to UTV’s Akua Pokuaa affectionately known as Vim Lady explained how he came up with the innovation.

“I used to build smaller cars but this time around I decided to build something bigger and employed the help of seven of my friends”, Kelvin said.

He added that his friends contributed as his financiers as his apprentices.

According to the journalist, Alhaji Moro, the young engineer took one of his small cars built in a similar fashion to Fadda Dickson for support and the latter was super impressed.

Kelvin who currently resides at Tabora in Accra is part of the current batch of the BECE students graduating this year from the Cosmos International School.
