Bill Asamoah appointed Tourism Ambassador for Ghana

Kumawood star actor and movie director, Bill Asamoah, has been revealed as the new Ambassador for Tourism in Ghana.

This was confirmed by Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku after the actor had taken his appointment letter as Tourism Ambassador on Wednesday, February 6.

In a Facebook post to announce the news, Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku wrote:

“Yesterday, Bill Asamoah was at my office to pick up his appointment letter as a Tourism Ambassador for Ghana.”

“This appointment was made after KUMAWOOD unanimously nominated him to be appointed as an ambassador after many months of deliberation.”

“Speaking with Bill, he revealed he was going to ensure the promotion of Ghana to the world through quality movies, and enhance the business aspect of film making to attract investors. He also intends to promote Government policies and agenda through Ghanaian films.”

“I also used the opportunity to inform him that, the Nana Addo led government has not neglected the people of Kumasi in terms of Tourism, Arts and Culture development as some media reports suggest, but instead we are trying our very best to make the industry attractive for both local and foreign investors to want to invest.”

“Thank you.”

Bill Asamoah is also the President for the Ashanti Regional Chapter of the Ghana Actors Guild. The actor is known for his roles in Kumawood movies like Sundiata, Kae (Remember) and The Mighty One.
