Bishop Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church tuned “himself in” at the Tema Police station after an invitation by the police in connection with the flogging of the “fornicators”.
In accordance with the investigations into reports that he publicly flogged two young adults of his church for allegedly indulging in fornication.
He has been charged with physical and verbal assault and has been transferred to the Police headquarters in Accra from the Tema Police station for further questioning after his congregation massed up at the Police station.
Reports also revealed that one of his associate has also been charged with abatement of crime.
Gender Minister, Nana Oye Lithur has also filed a complaint against him at the Accra Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) Office.
Private legal practitioner who pursues human rights issues, Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, has together with two other people, sued the International God’s Way Church (IGC) and its founder, Bishop Daniel Obinim, for the alleged assault of two teenagers during a church service.
