The Ghanaian midfielder is reported to have spent some time in cells after he was initially accused of the crime.

Though his plea of not guilty was considered because he had no knowledge the lady in question was under-aged, he still faces accusations of taking advantage of young girls since he joined Malmo FF, a football club.

“I mean he has had sexual intercourse with the plaintiff, and I claim it’s like judging rape against children,” said prosecutor Rikard Darell.

Sources say that the date of the sentence may be announced soon, but Sarfo may continue his stay in cells.

Coach Kwesi Appiah handed the player his maiden Black Stars call-up when he was invited for Ghana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uganda last year, but the allegations surrounding him has also halted his invitation to the Black Stars team.
