The National football team of Ghana, the Blackstars who are currently in Egypt for the ongoing African Cup of Nations(AFCON) drew in their first game against The Squirrels of Benin at the Ismailia Stadium today in their first match.
The Blackstars were reduced to 10-men after defender John Boye was handed a second yellow card in the 54th minute after he fouled a Benin player.
Benin took the lead in the 2nd minute after striker Pote went pass the Ghanaian defense and scored the opener of the day.

Dede Ayew scored the equalizer in the 9th minute whiles his brother Jordan scored Ghana’s second goal a few minutes before halftime.
But that didn’t stop the Beninios who kept pushing and with the help of their striker Pote scored their second goal to be on level them with the Ghanaian team
The Blackstars move to 3rd position in their group standings with just 1 point and would face Cameroon on Saturday 29th June, 2018 in the second encounter of their group stage matches.
Ghana hopes of winning the AFCON trophy for the first in over 30 years after it last won in 1982 when current head coach James Kwesi Appiah was still an active footballer.
