The new replacement for the late Ebony Reigns, Wendy Shay, recently introduced by the CEO of Rufftown Records, Bullet of Ruff and Smooth fame has incurred the wrath of Ghanaians and the fans of Ebony for imitating Ebony’s style in a new video going viral.
After the death of Ebony Reigns born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, Bullet introduced another artist called Wendy Shay as the new artist signed by Rufftown Records.
He was severely criticised for introducing another artist barely a month after the death of the artist he claimed was the future of the record label. He was accused of trying to replace Ebony with the lady but he came to deny that. He stated emphatically that Ebony is irreplaceable.
But the actions of the new artist prove otherwise. It appears she is mimicking Ebony in every step of her career. But her recent video has angered fans of the late reigning artists of the year.
The video was reportedly taken at the just held Ghana DJ Award. Wendy Shay was in the company of Ogee and Bullet when a short video of her was recorded. She could be heard telling Ghanaians to watch out for her because she will take over the music industry like a storm.
Since the video was shared online, social media users have accused her of even copying how Ebony talks. Well-wishers have told her to be real with herself in order to gain the needed attention whiles others have called her fake and all sort of names.
