Information reaching the office of Ghpage.com indicates that the Techiman Police command has busted a fake lawyer today during court proceedings at Techiman circuit court.
The fake lawyer named Iddrisu Yahaya was in court to represent some four accused persons standing trial in a robbery and kidnapping case when he was arrested by the police.

By reports, the fake lawyer was at the court to seek bail for the accused persons who were facing the law and had already charged them over GHc 25,000 to defend them.
The Judge, His Lordship Justice Alexander Graham per his interactions with then suspected fake lawyer came to the realization that the lawyer is not truly a lawyer and he has no license to operate.
The judge after interrogating the lawyer quickly called for his arrest.
Divisional police commander Chief Supt. Ohene Boadi Bossman shared with the public in an interview with Joy News reporter Anas Sabit how the police got the information about the fake lawyer that got him arrested.
” I received a call from the circuit court Judge in Techiman that somebody has come to his court claiming to be a lawyer, but he thinks he is there to in impersonating as a lawyer” Supt. Ohene stated.
” I want to advise the public to be mindful of people of such nature, they put on lawyers uniforms just to fake and dupe their clients, if you want to hire a lawyer go to the appropriate chambers” he further cautioned.

The fake Lawyer however when questioned by the Joy News reporter said he has been practicing law for 2 years and later retracted his statement to say he has been rather practicing for just a year and that he got the license and graduated from Maranatha University college.

Two lawyers who also spoke to Joy News were dismayed at how the fake lawyer managed to get his way through to the extent of defending two accused persons.
