Earlier in this week, Ghpage.com reported that the nation’s head bank, the Bank of Ghana has charged UT Bank And Capital Bank for Overpowered liabilities on Assets and as a result, annulled their operating licenses.
And as expected from Ghanaians, many people made several comments about the annulment and sales of the banks and the rumors went viral.
It was later revealed that the founder of the International Central Gospel Church, Pastor Mensa Otabil was the board chairman in one of the defunct banks, Capital Bank.
However, one of Ghana’s controversial prophets who speaks-from-the-shoulder, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has expressed a big time disappointment in Pastor Mensa Otabil’s for his inability to save Capital Bank from sinking.
The prophet speaking on Accra-based Kasapa FM about the issue stated that he would have expected Mensa Otabil to show some competence in managing Capital Bank.
He threw a light on a flashback about Dr. Mensa Otabil once referring to the former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, as “incompetent” and concluded that if the man of God was competent enough, he would be able to save his Capital Bank from the crisis.
“When President Mahama was in power, Dr. Mensa Otabil called him ‘incompetent’. He extensively criticised the former President that he can’t rule over 27 million population but you (Otabil) with this small bank (Capital Bank), you couldn’t keep this bank in business and sat to watch it collapse”, he stated.
