The gruesome murder of a 90-year-old woman accused of witchcraft by a traditional priest has attracted a strong call for justice for the deceased as it trends all over social media.
The deceased, Akua Denteh, was lynched to death on Thursday at Kafaba near Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.
Many have frowned on the despicable act as a campaign for justice for the old lady hashtagged #JusticeforNanabaa trends especially on twitter.
Paramount among personalities who have criticized the act are the Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP Enoch Adutwum Bediako, Ex-president John Dramani Mahama, and the President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo.
The President made this known while commissioning a five million cedi water project at Yapei in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.
He again added that he would make a contribution to a foundation named Akua Denteh Foundation to prove his disgust at the act and to ensure that it is discontinued.
He said, ” I’ll make an appropriate contribution also, to the Akua Denteh Foundation to express my own revulsion at the awful tragic act that has occurred in this region.”
