Captain Planet, leader of Hiplife group, 4X4, has added his voice to the ongoing brouhaha between artistes and event organizers Charter House.
According to Captain Planet, awards were distributed like shots of locally manufactured alcoholic drink, ‘Akpeteshie’. Although the video for his song, Obi Agye Obi Girl, won the Best Video Award, Captain Planet alleged that the awards were not given to the deserving nominees.

“I want to tell the VGMA Board to stop sharing the awards like Akpeteshie shots and give it to the deserving people. I had five nominations and won only one award but I think I deserved more because Obi Agyi Obi Girl did marvelously well in the year under review,” he said.
The musician ina separate interview with graphic showbiz stated that he’s not going to fight over the categories he failed to win because it’s not necessary. But then, he’s just advising Charterhouse to do the needful thing hopefully next year by awarding artistes based on merit.
