Casket dealers in Accra have desperately lamented over the low patronage despite the high death rate being recorded in the country.
According to the Adjei Boye Okaine managing director Adjei and Brothers Wood Works, they have had no choice than to drastically reduce to the prices of the coffins. He also revealed that they sometimes have to give out the coffins on credit.
He said;
“We now give the coffins out on credit just to make ends meet. Our business is on the verge of collapse,”
Mr Okaine, also revealed that his capital has been locked up due to the low patronage. He added that he was finding difficulties paying his employees. He said;
“I can’t pay my workers and my prayer is to get more buyers for my beautiful coffins,” he said.
He concluded by praying to God to increase their sales in order to get money to settle his responsibilities.
“No matter what we will all die so it is not a sin for us to pray for high sales,”
