Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League beckons this evening with eight meetings from Groups A-D. There 7 teams that can seal their place in the next round of the competition tonight.
Ghpage.com takes a look at these 7 seven teams and how they can qualify for the next round with two matches to spare.
Group A, B, and D seem to be a done deal for the top teams but there is still everything to play for in Group C.
Group A: Manchester United and Basel can book their place in the round of 16 if they win their respective matches against Benfica and CSKA Moscow. Manchester United currently leads the pack with 9 points while Basel sits in second with 6 points. CSKA Moscow is third with 3 points and Benfica is firmly rooted at the bottom with no point.
Group B: Just like the scenario in Group A, a win for the PSG and Bayern Munich will all but confirm their place in the next round of the UEFA Champions League. This means that both Anderlecht and Celtic will have to fight for the UEFA Europa League slot which is reserved for the third-placed team in the group if they both lose today.
Group C: This is where there is still everything to play for. The group currently looks very tricky and it is very difficult to predict who will go through. Only the English Champions Chelsea can qualify to the next round with a victory this evening. A defeat for Roma tonight will mean that Atletico Madrid can still qualify to the next round if they can get a victory in today’s match against Qarabag FK.
Group D: Barcelona (9 points), Juventus (6 points), Sporting CP (3 points) and Olympiacos (no point). This means that wins for both Barcelona and Juventus will confirm their places in the round of 16.
So there you have it, do you think these 7 teams will qualify this evening? Or will they have to wait for another day? We live to see as only time will tell what will happen at the end of 90 minutes.
