The Ghana Revenue Authority has closed down the Chinese cement manufacturing company, Sol Cement for escaping tax payments.
The Chinese company located in the Tema Industrial Area is estimated to owe the state over ¢700 million.
The Tax Enforcement Team of the Ghana Revenue Authority went to the site of the company to lock it up after conducting internal tax audit.
Sol Cement was cited for Value Added Tax (VAT) infractions, Corporate Income Tax avoidance, penalties, among others which have not been paid for more than two years.
