You remember Chikel right? Well, she’s the young talented Afro-pop singer who claimed she’s possessed by the late Ebony’s spirit. She claims that whenever she starts to sing a spirit enters her which she believes to be that of Ebony and which makes her voice sound like the ‘Sponsor’ hitmaker.
“Anytime I get behind the microphone in the studio to record a song, I feel something strange within me, is more than extra energy and when I finish recording the song my voice looks like that of Ebony. Sometimes I even get stunned by the whole situation. I don’t want to be like her but I think she lives in me because the output of my voice always resembles hers.” She disclosed.
This issue earned this little singer a lot of criticisms. Chikel who holds firm to his dream never got discouraged by these insults and criticisms and she still chases her dream with determination and hard work.
The 17-year-old songwriter and Afro-pop singer has thrown shots at her critics who claim Dhat Gyal is more talented and more creative than she is.
According to Chikel, she is more of a creative and talented act than Dhat Gyal though she’s much recognised in the music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Osagyefo FM with DJ Nat on Entertainment Dig, Chikel reaffirmed that it sounds very comical to be compared to Dhat Gyal.
“I always laugh when I hear people comparing two of us, Yes she is good but she can’t match me in any way. I am more creative and talented than her and my works prove it,” she said
Chikel who still in SHS is of high hopes of becoming the hottest girl in Gh urged people to have a second look at her works claiming that either most of her critics have not listened to some of her songs or they are just speaking out of envy
“If Ghanaians and her fans see no truth in what I am saying then I think they haven’t heard my songs yet and that makes them feel that she is better than me, if they want to compare they should compare her to a different person but not me because I am more creative and talented than her in the fact that I am totally incomparable,” she added.
