A father and his wife have beaten their daughter to death because she wets the bed.
After hitting their child over her bedwetting habit, a couple in Yakase, Ghana’s Western North region, has caused her death.
Effah Donaldson, 34, and her 27-year-old wife Salome Oteku thrashed their 4-year-old daughter with a cane until she passed out.
They forced Francisca Etuteh, the daughter, to sit in hot water before they could cane her.
According to the Enchi District Police, the young girl’s arm was broken as a result of the abuse, which resulted to her death.
The event occurred on Tuesday in Yakase, in the Western North Region’s Aowin Municipality.
ACP Henry Bacho, Enchi Police Divisional Commander, told Joynews that the couple brought their daughter to the Aowin Community Clinic, but she died while receiving treatment.
Following the death of the child, they took her and wrapped her with Acheampong leaves, intending to bury her at midnight.
