Ghanaians woke up to the news that the Ayew brothers consisting of Andre and Jordan Ayew have reportedly quit the Black Stars.
The unconfirmed reports has triggered a wave of confusion and excitement among a section of Ghanaians on social media.
Many who have longed for the axing of the two from the national team could not contain their joy following the wide spread reports.
However, the spokesperson for the Ayew family, Fiifi Tackie has responded vehemently disputing the news.
“Andrè and Jordan Ayew are still very committed to the Black Stars team as they have always been,” he wrote on Twitter.
“They will keep donning the Black Stars jersey to represent Ghana and give the team their very best on and off the pitch, as always. We just got off the phone.”
Following Ghana’s humiliating exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, there has been a lot of negative reports about the Ayew brothers.

It has been wildly alleged that Dede Ayew and his brother Jordan Ayew supposedly brought their juju man to the team’s hotel to perform some rituals for them.
Whether the reported accusations are accurate or not, it’s not known yet as neither the players nor the Ghana FA have come out to make an official claim against the brothers.
