The nominees for the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards were released last week and after the release, several musicians and their managers have blasted the organizers for their failure to nominate them.

One of such notable people to complain is music group Praye who just got back together after breaking up and pursuing their solo careers for some years.

According to the group, they deserve to have gotten a nomination in this year’s event in the “Best music Group” stating that aside R2bees they had played shows and remained vibrant than any other group in the list.

But Showbiz pundit and journalist David Mawuli has asked the group to stop ranting and making noise on social media since they don’t even qualify to be nominated for any awards in the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

According to him, the group should rather channel their energies into producing good songs that they are noted for.

He stated: “We know that some deserving artistes were snubbed at the year’s VGMA but Praye wasn’t snubbed. They did nothing to merit a nod.

The fact the we have fewer groups doesn’t mean the board should nominate any group k?k?. Otherwise Dark Suburb, Gallaxy, Chogu Boys, et al will equally be nominated.

It won’t be competitive — just b?la nominations.

Let’s be honest, this is not the Praye we used to vibe with. They are very weak.

They should rather invest the back and forth energy into their craft and find new ways of adapting to the new system”.
