With Asamoah Gyan mostly outside the country plying his trade, his wife has been responsible for caring for their children and educating them here in Ghana. And she has certainly done a good job at it so far.
Unlike many other wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of important personalities, Gifty Gyan is highly reserved. She never appears on radio and television. She never grants interviews to the media. Even some journalists have given up trying to interview her because she is simply not interested. She is not the kind of person who loves public attention.
However, while Gifty is not a fan of traditional media outlets, she is a fan of social media. She has a private Instagram account where she shares updates on her life with her followers. She often shares photos of her fashion choices and of getaways with her children.
The only time they appeared to have had trouble was when Gyan slept with the then-university student, Sarah Kwablah, and sparked a scandal.
The star footballer has said in an interview that he sought forgiveness from his wife after that episode, and she forgave him.
