The current president of the GMA, Dr. Frank Ankobea has, therefore, dispute that government has taken doctors for granted. Speaking in an interview with the media, the president made a tipoff of a massive laydown of tools in 2018 if our grievances are not resolved.

Their concerns date back to 2015 when the erstwhile Mahama administration greed and signed conditions of service document for doctors working under the ministry of health and its agencies.

“The GMA therefore decides that if all the issues of full implementation of conditions of service and market premium together with the related matters of conversion difference and reduced pensions are not resolved by government immediately, the GMA by 18 hours GMT, April 30, 2018, will begin a series of activities that will definitely affect the current industrial climate,” he stated.

However, the government is yet to begin an engagement between the Association and the ministry of health.
