One of the zestful contests in the history of the National Science and Maths Quiz is the 2021 edition. It came off at KNUST Great Hall on Friday 26th November 2021.

During the heated contest, one person who seemed to have caught the attention of the audience and NSMQ lovers who watched via social media, was Francisca Lamini, a contestant who represented Keta SHTS.

Her brilliance and smartness displayed at the Grand Finale were exceptional. Though she was in the company of another brilliant guy on stage, her acumen was noticeable to all.

The young lioness representing her school Keta SHTS – who for the first time qualified to the finals after beating Wesley Girls’ High School and Tamale SHS – earned the praise of all after the contest.

The likes of Cookie Tee, Gifty Anti, Deloris Frimpong Manso et al applauded Lamini for exceptionally breaking the glass and displaying her brilliance to the world on the NSMQ platform.

The Quiz Mistress herself has joined to heap praises on the young girl over her eagerness to have battled it out with strong boys from Prempeh College and PRESEC.

Dr Elsie Kauffman speaking in an interview on LUV FM (99.5) in Kumasi said, Francisca, is amazing and very confident. She continued that NSMQ in 8 years have not had a female at the finals so for Lamini to be there at the finals in 2021 means a lot.

“She’s amazing, bold and we have not had a female in the finals for 8 years and there she was doing her thing very confident giving out answers. I was happy to see her, she did very well and I hope she does well in life” Dr Kauffman told the host after he asked, “What do you make of her (Francisca) and her abilities?”
