Is it the duty of government to retrieve your money?-Bridget Otoo asks NAM1

TV Presenter and broadcaster Bridget Otoo seems not to understand why the CEO of Menzgold Ghana Limited, NAM1  on calling on the government to assist him to retrieve his money from foreign companies.

In a tweet, the broadcaster asked why Nana Appiah Mensah who is a private businessman wants the government to assist in retrieving money in a private business deal.

Bridget Otoo who seemed surprised in a Twitter post asked since when did it become the duty of the government to do that.

It can be recalled that Nana Appiah Mensah has been away from Ghana for several months after his gold firm was shut down for operating it without a license.

After spending several months in Dubai, NAM1 arrived in Ghana and was arrested at the airport and charged with defrauding by false pretense and operating a business without a license.

He was recently released on 1billion cedis bail after his lawyers appealed to the court that his bail conditions were very harsh.

However, yesterday 19th August 2019, NAM1 held a press conference and appealed to the government to assist him in retrieving his locked up funds in foreign countries.

He also called on the government to unfreeze his companies assets and bank accounts to enable him to settle his customers.
