A domestic violence case reported at Maamaso, near New Abirem in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region confirms that 29-year-old man, identified only as Kofi is battling for his life after he was stabbed by his 21-year-old wife, Maafua, during a heated argument over food.
According to reports, the altercation began when Kofi who had returned home from work realized that his wife had changed their evening meal from banku and okro stew which he had provided money for to banku and light soup.
Sources indicate that Maafua explained she could not prepare okro stew because the money her husband gave her was insufficient.

Kofi who was upset by the change confronted her and insisted that the meal he had requested should have been prepared.
The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
During the scuffle, Kofi is said to have picked up a knife, but Maafua overpowered him, seized the weapon, and stabbed him.
Kofiโs brother, Francis, who was in another room at the time, heard the commotion and rushed to the scene, only to find his brother profusely bleeding.
He immediately transported Kofi to the New Abirem Government Hospital, where he was later referred to the Koforidua Government Hospital for further treatment.
